AWS mediaconnect: MediaConnect source health metric units and Zixi applicability corrections

Service: mediaconnect · 2026-09-27 · Documentation low

File: mediaconnect/latest/ug/monitor-with-cloudwatch-metrics-source-health.md

Summary

Corrects unit labels for SourceMergeStatusWarnMismatch/SourceMergeStatusWarnSolo (Count -> None), adds a note that SourceConsecutiveDrops and SourceConsecutiveNotRecovered apply only to Zixi-protocol sources, and renames the SourceUptime metric to SourceUpTime with Units: Seconds.

Security assessment

The diff only fixes metric unit labels, renames a metric, and scopes two drop metrics to the Zixi protocol; it is documentation accuracy work with no vulnerability, credential, or access-control content.

Evidence

+`SourceConsecutiveDrops` | The number of data packets that were dropped in a row during transmission of data to MediaConnect. This metric applies only to sources that use the Zixi protocol. Units: Count Valid dimensions:

This means that any dropped packets will not be recovered and will result in poor network reliability. This metric only applies to sources using **merge mode** failover. Merge mode failover requires both sources to be _binary identical_. To be binary identical, the sources must originate from the same encoder. This will ensure the sources can share missing packets, as the packets are identical.Units: CountValid dimensions:
