AWS dcv: DCV Linux prerequisites: OS support and install command updates

Service: dcv · 2026-09-27 · Documentation low

File: dcv/latest/adminguide/setting-up-installing-linux-prereq.md

Summary

Restructures the Amazon DCV Linux prerequisite guide: updates supported OS tabs (adds Amazon Linux 2023, RHEL/CentOS/Rocky 8/9, SUSE Linux Enterprise 15, Ubuntu 22.04/24.04), replaces yum/apt commands with dnf/zypper equivalents, renames GDM3 to GDM, and reorganizes the Wayland-disable and glxinfo/XDummy sections.

Security assessment

The diff is purely documentation maintenance: OS version updates, package manager command changes (yum to dnf, apt, zypper), and section reorganization. The Wayland-disable instructions are a compatibility requirement for DCV, not a security control, and no vulnerability, CVE, or credential/authz guidance is introduced.

Evidence

+The default desktop environment for Amazon Linux 2023 is GNOME and the default desktop manager is GDM.
