AWS mgn documentation change

Service: mgn · 2026-06-19 · Documentation low

File: mgn/latest/ug/mgn-release-notes.md

Summary

Rebranded AWS Application Migration Service to AWS Transform MGN; added support for FSx for ONTAP storage, multiple new operating systems, no-rescan upon reboot feature, server ID updates, and server deletion; updated compliance certifications including DoD IL4/IL5 authorization.

Security assessment

The changes primarily document rebranding, feature additions (OS support, storage options), and compliance certifications. While compliance updates (FedRAMP, DoD) relate to security standards, they reflect existing certifications rather than addressing vulnerabilities or adding new security features. No evidence of patching vulnerabilities or mitigating threats exists in the diff.
