AWS documentdb documentation change

Service: documentdb · 2026-03-31 · Documentation low

File: documentdb/latest/developerguide/trim.md

Summary

Added new documentation page for the $trim aggregation operator in Amazon DocumentDB, including syntax, parameters, MongoDB shell examples, and code examples in Node.js and Python.

Security assessment

This change adds documentation for a standard database operator ($trim) used for string manipulation. There is no evidence of security vulnerability fixes, security patches, or security incident remediation. The code examples show standard TLS connection parameters which are normal security practices for database connections, but this is not new security documentation.

+
+
+## Example (MongoDB Shell)
+
+The following example demonstrates how to use the `$trim` operator to remove leading and trailing whitespace from a string.
+
+**Create sample documents**
+
+
+    db.people.insertMany([
+      { "name": "   John Doe   " },
+      { "name": "   Bob Johnson   " }
+    ])
+
+**Query example**
+
+
+    db.people.aggregate([
+      { $project: {
+        "name": { $trim: {input: "$name"}}

+    ])
+
+**Output**
