AWS data-exchange documentation change

Service: data-exchange · 2026-01-10 · Documentation medium

File: data-exchange/latest/userguide/publish-data-product.md

Summary

Updated the product publishing workflow with new steps, including creation in AWS Marketplace Management Portal, product ID generation, data sensitivity settings, and added allowlist configuration for access control.

Security assessment

The changes introduce documentation for the 'allowlist' feature (step 'To configure allowlist'), which enables providers to restrict product visibility to specific AWS accounts. This is a security feature for access control. However, there's no evidence this addresses a specific security vulnerability; it appears to be a new capability rather than a fix.
