AWS cli documentation change

Service: cli · 2025-08-25 · Documentation low

File: cli/latest/reference/wafv2/check-capacity.md

Summary

Updated documentation to clarify behavior differences between managed and customer-owned rule groups when invalid rule names are used in overrides. Added warnings about silent ignoring of invalid names in managed groups vs update failures in customer-owned groups.

Security assessment

The change improves documentation about security configuration behavior but does not address a specific vulnerability. It highlights potential misconfiguration risks (silent failures in managed groups) which could indirectly impact security posture if administrators are unaware of this behavior. However, there's no evidence this documents a newly discovered security issue.
